Privacy policy

Hertz Sync is made by Vykra. In short: the app works on your computer, and your sounds and library never leave it.

What stays on your computer

Your sample folders, file names, categories, collections, favorites, settings and the sound analysis (including the AI listening) are processed and stored only on your computer. We never receive them.

What is sent over the internet

• License checks (Pro only). When you activate Pro, and about once a day after that, the app sends your license key, an anonymous id for your computer (a hash, not its name or your user name) and a short label like “Windows PC · 7F3A” to the Hertz Sync license server (run on Cloudflare). It checks the key with Gumroad and keeps, for each key, only a hash of the key and the ids, labels and dates of the computers using it, so a key can be used on 3 computers at a time. Nothing about your library is included.
• Update check. When the app starts, it asks GitHub for the number of the latest Hertz Sync version, so it can tell you when an update is out. Nothing about you or your library is sent; GitHub sees an ordinary request from your IP address, as with any website.
• Buying Pro. Purchases are handled by Gumroad, which processes your name, email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive what Gumroad shares with sellers, such as your email and order details, and use it only to support your purchase.

The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.

This website

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security; see GitHub's privacy statement.

To see how many people visit and which sites link here, the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, doesn't use your IP address to identify you, and doesn't follow you across other sites; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. This applies to the website only: the app itself contains no analytics.

Your choices

You can delete all local data by uninstalling Hertz Sync and removing its data folder. To ask about purchase data we hold, reply to your purchase receipt email.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
